The second largest insurance company in the region of Southeast Europe, Adriatic Slovenica, recently announced a major shift in business in Croatia. Yesterday’s presentation of offers, AS Insurance makes a step forward in the non-life insurance, of which much is expected.
“In the life insurance market we will continue to offer innovative products, especially our famous Fondpolica, but in new colors of AS Osiguranje. As well, we’re going on an interesting auto insurance market with our original business model, which is the sale of AO shelf over the Internet,” said Neven Tišma, Director of the branch in Croatia.
Adriatic Slovenica exists in Croatia since 2008, when through his own company KD Life Insurance started selling Fondpolica, life insurance linked to investment funds. In March last year is established a subsidiary, which will offer the Croatian market and non-life insurance, primarily auto insurance.
With the aim of uniting offers life and non-life insurance and business optimization, which is possible because of Croatian membership in the European Union last year launched the process of merger of KD Life parent company Adriatic Slovenica. By incorporation on 30 December 2015 that the procedure formally concluded, which is carried out the first cross-border merger in the financial sector in Croatia and one of the first cross-border merger ever in the region.
All this, of course, in cooperation with the Slovenian agency for ensuring Supervision Agency (ISA) and the Croatian Agency for Supervision of Financial Services (HANFA). Merger KD Life is transferred all its assets, rights and liabilities of the subsidiary, which means that the procedure will not have any effect on the existing obligations of the whole company. Thus, the sale of life insurance, or Fondpolica, continue under the brand AS Osiguranje.
“The procedure will positively affect the position of our clients in Croatia, due to the fact that all rights and obligations transferred to the company Adriatic Slovenica, which is the second largest insurance company in Slovenia and in the region of Southeast Europe”, explains Gabriel Bishop, CEO of Adriatic Slovenice.
This will be under the brand AS insurance now in Croatia and will also offer car insurance and life insurance, and in the further development of the company will pay special attention to innovative products and innovative market presence.

Tailored to the needs of modern man, AS Direct is characterized by speed and simplicity in contracting, security and reliability offered by a large insurance company. In Croatia, the online sales rack for motor vehicles is still under-used channel, per year through the purchase model sold only 4-5000 shelves, while in Slovenia this figure increased three to four times.
